LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - At least one person is in custody and three people were injured following a neighbor dispute that ended in gunfire in the Westside on Tuesday.

Emergency communications received a report around 1:36 p.m. of an argument between neighbors near the 900 block of Doolittle Avenue.

As officers were dispatched, officers heard gunshots upon their arrival. Eventually, three people were taken to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries. At least one person was taken into custody.

Two nearby schools were placed in lockdown at the time before students were released under the supervision of police officers. Investigators said there was no outstanding threat to public safety and all those involved are detained and accounted for.

FOX5 spoke to a parent who received a message about the lockdown and wasn’t receiving texts back from her child and niece that attends Matt Kelly Elementary School. She was of course terrified.

“For sure that was my first thought, a shooting. but I thought it was a shooting in the school not next to the school, but it’s almost the same thing because they could jump and they could go into the classrooms,” Maria Flores said.
